In an interview discussing his professional journey within Autoliv, Fabien explains how China has become a global hub for auto innovation, and why it appeals to companies and individuals who want to be at the centre of the industry’s next developmental stage.

China and Southeast Asia (SEA) are at a pivotal stage in their relationship. Providing these insight “windows” today are five of CEIBS’ Global EMBA alumni, all from the class of 2022. While they have diverse professional backgrounds, they all have experience working and living in both China and at least one SEA country. Across a series of short interviews, all five alums shared their thoughts on the China-SEA relationship and its relevance to their current role and career path.

Geopolitical tensions, a global pandemic and a devastating conflict – CEIBS Global EMBA(GEMBA) 2022 student Iryna Huryn has led her team and her company through them all. Weathering crisis after crisis in recent years, each one has strengthened her capacity to lead, strategise and adapt to new business realities at a moment’s notice.

With over ten years’ experience in this lightning-fast financial space, Chao is all too familiar with the need to remain agile and open-minded to both the potential upsides and downsides of the dramatic innovations that set blockchain apart from more traditional trading systems. Currently established in Singapore, Chao oversees the operations and future strategy of HashKey Singapore, an institutional player that enables its global clients to better understand, explore, trade, and invest in the cryptocurrency space. 

For Stefan Dattenberger, alumnus of the CEIBS Global EMBA Class of 2021, his personal growth and metamorphosis has been in line with the industry. He has worked as a consultant in China and is now the General Manager and Associate Partner of Ingenics Shanghai, an international consulting organisation, where he maintains a close relationship with the automotive industry.

Stefan shares his experiences in China, his personal and professional growth and his valuable insights into the future of innovation in the Chinese automotive industry.

From Chanel to Estée Lauder and then to Shiseido, Jenny has spent two decades in the cosmetics industry. She has built marketing teams from the ground up multiple times and led them in introducing many new foreign brands to China, including now-popular names such as Jo Malone and Origins. Her leadership roles have expanded beyond marketing to include sales and training.

While the pandemic is firmly in the rearview mirror, its impact on the global economy and the overall business landscape remains a consideration to this day. For Mohsen Sabet (Class of Global EMBA 2021, COO of VT Industrial Technology), the lessons he and his team learned during the past three years have shaped the course of their current business strategy and client relationships. It also gave them the push to take VT global.

We sat down with Mohsen to ask him about his leadership of VT's initial expansion out from its sizeable base in Wuxi, Jiangsu province. It's a bright new chapter for the company and for Mohsen personally.  His time with CEIBS Global EMBA may be coming to an end, but the application of its lessons couldn't be more relevant as VT takes this ambitious new step with a view to becoming a leading global player in the automotive tooling industry.
