Lee, Byron Yee Sing
Associate Professor of Management, CEIBS
Dr. Byron Y. Lee is Associate Professor of Management at CEIBS. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from University of Toronto. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was on the faculty in the School of Business at Renmin University of China and also served as the International MBA Academic Director at this school.
Dr. Lee’s main research interests focus on Compensation, Strategic Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. His publications appear in Canadian Journal of Economics, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, International Journal of Manpower, Journal of Labor Research and Contemporary Economic Research. He has received the Emerging Scholar Award in Employee Participation and Ownership from the Academy of Management.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Lee has both consulted and worked as an economist for the government of Canada and Hydro One as well as served on the board of a not-for profit organization in Canada. Dr. Lee frequently provides corporate training to various multi-national companies. He has published award winning cases and specializes in teaching human resource management and how the digital environment is starting to transform HRM in addition to leadership and negotiations to various executive audiences with a focus on China. Dr. Lee has been recognized with the 2021 CEIBS Teaching Excellence Award for his excellence in teaching.
