CEIBS and Frankfurt School of Management and Finance host alumni mixer
January 19, 2023. Frankfurt – CEIBS Switzerland and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management hosted a special mixer at the Frankfurt School’s campus this evening. Over 50 people attended, including a mixture of alumni and students from both schools.
The event was part of an ongoing partnership between CEIBS and the Frankfurt School and offered a chance for those from both of the schools’ communities to expand their networks.
The event started with a talk from Frankfurt School Professor of Finance Tobias Berg, who spoke about the future of payments. He discussed whether ‘fiat money’ (government-issued currencies not backed by commodities) would ever disappear from use, if Bitcoin would ever be the way we pay for everyday services, and whether we would soon become familiar with the digital Euro. Prof. Berg took questions from the audience, who were intrigued by his insights and a thoughtful discussion prevailed.
The talk was followed by a lively networking session with food and drinks, hosted in one of the Frankfurt School campus’ executive lounges. Participants exchanged thoughts on the discussion, as well as contact details. CEIBS and Frankfurt alumni also shared their post-study experiences with the Frankfurt School MBAs students in attendance.
CEIBS Alumni Manager for Europe Georgina Childs said, “It was very interesting for CEIBS alumni to hear the talk from Professor Berg and the networking session was rich and animated, with many people finding common ground. The partnership with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management allows our alumni network to be more dynamic and for CEIBS alumni to make new business connections, as well as new friends amongst Frankfurt School alumni. We thank the Frankfurt School for hosting us and look forward to our next joint event.”
