Guo, Wei
Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, CEIBS
Prof. Wei Guo is Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, she was Assistant Professor of Strategy at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Guo received her Ph.D. degree in strategic management from University of Maryland and M.B.A from Marshall University.
With a focus on the behavioral foundation of strategy, Dr. Guo’s research interests mostly concentrate on two related facets, including strategic communication and competitive strategy. Her paper has been published at leading management journals such as the Academy of Management Journal. One of her paper won the Distinguished Student Paper Award at the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management (AOM). Besides, her dissertation won the Best Ph.D. Paper Award at the Strategic Management Society (SMS) Annual Conference.
For the teaching facet, Dr. Guo is very adept at teaching strategic management and Management Policy and Strategy. Her course is very well received among her former MBA and undergraduate students. Strategic Management Course helped her won PolyU faculty award for outstanding performance in teaching in 2017.
Furthermore, Dr. Guo currently serves as ad-hoc reviewers for Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Management Science and is an active reviewer for AOM and SMS annual conference since 2009. Before entering academia, she worked in human resource management and journalism positions.
