Dr. Huang Sheng is Professor of Finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Prior to joining CEIBS, he was Assistant Professor of Finance at Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University.

Dr. Huang received his Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, M.Phil. in Economics from University of Cambridge, and B.A. in History and Economics from Peking University. His current research focuses primarily on Corporate Finance, Merger and Acquisition, Corporate Governance, Financial Intermediation, Investment, Fintech, and Corporate Digital Transformation. His articles have been published in leading academic journals such as Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Journal of Financial Intermediation, among others. Dr. Huang is an ad hoc referee for top journals including Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science, and for Research Grant Council of Hong Kong and The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). He is also a member of American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and Financial Intermediation Research Society.

Dr. Huang has won numerous awards for his outstanding performance in research and teaching, such as Best Paper Award at the Seventh Annual Conference on Asia-Pacific Financial Markets (CAFM) in 2012, Dean’s Teaching Honor List of SMU from 2010 to 2011, 2021 CEIBS Research Excellence Award, Winner of the Excellent Paper Award in the Third Annual Summit of Digital Finance Open Research Platform (2021-2022), etc. His research was featured in major media outlets such as Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, Fox Business, China Daily, China Securities Journal, Securities Times, The Economic Observer, China Business News, and China Youth Daily, etc. In 2019, he won the CEIBS Power of One Service Excellence Award for Faculty Members.
